How much money can I deposit in Geldmaat? ›

The maximum number of banknotes a machine can handle is 200. If you want to deposit more than 200 banknotes, you must make more than one deposit.

You can make a cash withdrawal at every geldmaat ATM using your Maestro or Visa debit card and/or your MasterCard or Visa credit card. You can withdraw as much money as your card limit permits and your bank allows you to.

Depositing coins

You can deposit your loose coins at Geldmaat cash deposit machines located in Gamma and Karwei stores. You can only deposit coins into your own account or a charity account. You can only deposit euro coins.

Withdrawing notes

All ATMs have €50, €20, €10 notes and some ATMs have €5 notes. The individual machine indicates which notes are available. You can withdraw up to €2,000 per transaction depending on the availability of the ATM.

Depositing a big amount of cash that is $10,000 or more means your bank or credit union will report it to the federal government. The $10,000 threshold was created as part of the Bank Secrecy Act, passed by Congress in 1970, and adjusted with the Patriot Act in 2002.

There is no limit to the cash you can deposit and it's not illegal to do so. The bank is required by law to report your deposits to the IRS, in order to keep a record of your deposits and also make sure there are no money laundering activities involved.

Under the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), you are limited to $10,000 of cash withdrawals from your bank account per day. And if you want to withdraw more than that $10,000 daily cash limit, the bank will report your transaction to the federal government.

While financial institutions typically don't restrict how much cash you can deposit at an ATM, you will generally face a limit on how many bills you can insert into the machine at one time. For example, an ATM might accept only 40 bills at a time, regardless of their denominations.
